Automatically Adding .torrent from folder

Hey,

Wondering if there is in the pipe, the ability to add torrent files to folder and BitComet to start downloading them, similar to uTorrent.

Was using BitComet before and loved it but needed this feature to start my downloads from work by syncing them to my dropbox. Don’t want to have a webpage like this accessible to the internet hence I wouldn’t use the remote admin feature.

A former staff member “funchords” wrote a script to do just this. It was a couple years ago, but it should still work.

As for the remote web user interface, it doesn’t have all the functions the ut webui has, but I think it has the same security, so you can restrict access to only specific port and IP address. Although nothing is 100% hack-proof, I think it’s safe to use.

I’ll try to find that guide for you.

Edit: I’m sorry but the guide I mentioned was lost in our last forum move. I’ll second the request.

Ariel, the purpose of this option would be to automatically start any torrents that are downloaded to a specific folder. This way someone could copy torrents to this folder across a network and have the tasks start to download. It can be very handy. I use this option with utorrent, if I want to start a large number of torrents, I can just copy them into the folder and they all download effortlessly. It’s much faster then starting them one at a time in the client or with the web user interface.

Please reply so I know you’ve read this,

Thanks

Thanks for the second. would really like this is so I can stop using uTorrent.
