I have donwloaded several torrents and out of all of them I have not exceeded like 56kb/s and I should have the capabilities to download at like 5.5mb/s but no matter what I do (patches, accelerating software, even using other programs like Peerweb DC++, shareaza, etc.) I cannot break a good download speed. Can somebody please help and walk me through finding out why!?
This is the downside with P2P.
You will very likely get small downstreams on open communities, because people are selfish, and don’t seed to others.
Now, there is a solution to this, and that’s called: “Closed tracker”…
On a closed tracker people are FORCED to seed (This means: To share), and keep a good ratio. Otherwise the member will get banned.
Try to access a closed tracker, and choose a torrent with alot of seeders. Now, look if you get a great downspeed..
Of course, you could also just have forgotten to limit your uploadspeed.
