Basic question:

Hello.

I have many years looking for a stable and fast browser, however it´s difficult.

I ask you, if these browsers are very similar, What is the difference between Firefox 3.6.3 and Cometbird 3.6.3. Which of these browsers are faster?.

Thanks for your responses.

Hi minegroasprilla,

Compare to Firefox, CometBird has the following additional features:

Online bookmarks(CometMarks): this function allows users to manage their books even they’re on a different computer/operating system.

Online video download: users can download online videos/audio/flash when they’re watching it.

Word translator and notes: CometBird has a word translator, it’ll show the translation in user’s language when hover mouse on vertain words. And the notes function helps users to remember/save information.

Coloured tabs: Tabs of relevant webpages will be categorised into colours.

Ctrl+Tab: Press Ctrl+Tab when viewing multi site with CometBird, a preview of thumbnails will appear to show all the existing webpages.

As these two browsers are very similar, I’d say they’re as fast as another.

Thanks Lucy26.

CometBird is a very interesting browser.

But I insist on knowing if CB is faster than FF or they have the same speed (I would like CB improve the speed of Firefox).

Well, why don’t you install it instead and see for yourself if it fits your profile?

'Cuz that would be too easy, Wiz…

… besides (and I quote), “he insists in knowing” which of the two is faster… (never mind that nobody’s being politely asked to offer their personal point of view…) pleaseandthankyou. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, I´ll prove it . But I would like BitComet Development Team optimize the speed of Firefox.

 You’ll prove what?

Besides, the dev team isn’t very likely to optimize the speed of FirefoxTM but at best of CometBirdTM.

So, if you have a particular request about Firefox you should go to their forums.

It’s quite unlikely for the BitComet team to do that, since CometBird is developed from source code of Firefox, these 2 browsers are pretty much the same.

Also keep in mind that certain changes to make a browser faster on one computer using a specific connection may not help at all on another, and could even harm performance.

Google Chrome has a fast browser. It’s not very stable compared to FF/CB, but if speed is more important then having it run stable without crashing, then you might like it.

Gawd, TUUS, it sounds as if you’re talking about speeding on a motorbike without using a helmet…
