I am running Windows 7, 64 bit with Bit Comet 1.32. Recently I noticed that while downloading a 5gb file the download kept stopping and a red X appeared next to the file. I have plenty of disk space so that is not the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bit Comet to no avail. My Windows version is Home Premium and it is all up to date. I am connecting to the internet via a wireless D-Link 655 router. I did recently change my settings to open DNS and do not know if that is the problem. Please help.
Is the drive partition you are writing to formatted in FAT32? It doesn’t support files larger than 4GB. Real-time antivirus scanners don’t normally scan files that large, so the other thing might be that the windows user running BitComet doesn’t have the necessary permissions to write in that partition/folder.
Hovering your mouse over the red X gives a short explanation of the error. Can you post that here?
