hi my bitcomet stopped working once i started college and i presume this is because of the school’s server problem. i was wondering if it is possible to bypass this or maybe try a different client that would allow bittorrent to work. any help would be appreciated.
many schools block bit torrent traffic using different means.
For one thing, they would need to provide you with an exclusive listening port for bit comet to function properly, but you can disable listening port and perhaps download (although very slowly).
If you know the system admin, perhaps you can ask him to forward a port for you (for some legit purpose like linux distribution, fan film distribution, open source projects etc.) There are many ligitimate uses for bit torrent, so its worth a shot.
