BitComet saves file without extension, when opening Magnet link

Hello,

I want to report a bug, which adds manual work when downloading files with Magnet links.

I use BC 1.36 (64bit, Win7), but it was present in BC 1.35 (64bit) too.

When I copy Magnet link and paste it in “Open URL” field, or if BitComet catches it from clipboard, “Create new Bittorent task” window opens.

In the Filename field you can see, that no file extension is present. I noticed, that this happens in the case when file in torrent is not in a folder.

Then file is downloaded and saved without extension. Also, BC can’t detect file type and preview it, of course.

If task is canceled without downloading it and repeated again with the same Magnet link, the file extension becomes available.

Example screen attached.

Thank you for this report. We’ve known about this problem for some time and it seems to effect only torrents with one file.

I believe a solution is planned for the next release of bitcomet but I’ll send a reminder to see if we can get this upgraded to a higher priority.

Queenie, this problem has been unresolved for well over a year now. Can you ask the development team if they can make this a priority.

I’ve confirmed that most (if not all) of the torrents from EZTV have this problem when opening from a magnet link as do other torrents with only one file.

If they have any questions or problems reproducing the error let me know. I tested using Google Chrome browser and cometbird.
