Hi, I downloaded several files and they are in .avi format. I can play all other files in any video format (xvid, avi, mpg, etc.) with media player classic, but when I click on any of the files that I have downloaded via torrent, I get the error (XXXX has experienced an error, and will restart including explorer.exe. What am I doing wrong?
Those files could be corrupt. Try playing them with VLC player.
In windows xp if you change the folder the videos are in to thumbnail view and windows isnt able to show a thumbnail then they are likely corrupt or unreadable by directshow.
