We can’t really advise you or attempt to diagnose your problem once you’ve modified the product.

However, there isn’t a lot of difference between cometbird and firefox, and since there are portable version of firefox readily available, I’d just use one of them.

Only for a simple information the files extracted and/or run sandboxed ( “core” ) from the installer files of CometBird and Firefox have the same name and differ only for size, for the preinstalled extensions ( CB )and for one plugin. I don’t see so many differences. However, if you want to try you can put the content of the extracted file ( core ) from a default installer bundle in Bin\CometBird. I think the result will be the same, as I still haven’ t found any differences.

Thanks for your reply.

this problem only present in all non-english version!

Thanks for sharing this information. Altogh dll files are not the same ( not english version ) do you know what files in english version allow me to see the private tab and the browser version? This would be a great improvement and probably a possible solution!

Thanks.

( Note that compared with the portable version of the Universal launcher, I just tested only a different launcher ( with almost predefined paths ))

I think I have resolved the bug! But it’s only a workaround! I think it’s better if you ( forum! ) contact Mozilla!

I think you understood what I have done:

See you soon!

( and let me know! )

I (personally) find your topic/questions confusing and difficult to understand. This is probably because english isn’t your primary language, and you may also find me difficult to understand, so I’ll try to make this as clear as possible.

This forum is staffed by English speaking users of BitComet, who have also been actively helping users of other software developed by the same team, such as CometBird.

We do not develop cometbird and cannot offer you help in making a portable version, or a portable hybrid cometbird/firefox browser.

If you want to contact the developers directly, you can do so in their forum and in their language (Chinese Mandarin). Otherwise we won’t likely be able to help you, but good luck with your project and maybe another user here can.

No, sorry, you have not understood the point. My question is not about portability, but about the absence for this fork of an xpi language file which CAN resolve the bug exposed above.

As you could see by the last link, I have used an xpi ( zip ) lang file of another fork and the bug disappeared!

I could understand England is an island but …

W.W.W.

Regards

( to developers too )

Well, the developers are Chinese, if you want to ask them, you’ll have to do so in their language.

Ok, I will try to send a mail, as I am an expert in Chinese Mandarin.

It is clearly self-evident that it is a better solution to distribute 12 xpi language files of 200 KB or so and avoid a bug, as the localizations ( translations ) already exist, rather than 12 buggy installers of 14 MB each.
