Connecting with seeders

For some reason i don’t connect to any seeds in a download, only peers. Its quite frustrating because the first 90% can take 20 minutes and the last 10% can take hours. I am behind a router and i have forwarded ports < only the TCP> Is there anything else that i might need to do or something i need to set up in my client? Thanks

Not really. This is pretty normal for a low-seeded torrent. The seeder(s) can only connect to so many peers directly. Everyone else connects through other leechers. It’s how a torrent gets spread.

A few people hop aboard early and endure a constant, very slow download. Others come aboard later, and quickly get what the other leechers already have, but then they catch up to the leaders, and it’s slow for everyone until it completes and there are suddenly many more seeders.

Just gotta hang in there.

on this torrent there are 5000 seeders and 1700 leechers so there are enough connections to go around, i just dont connect ot any seeds

this torrent sounds suspicious if it truely has that many seeds, and is running slowly.

I’m not saying its a bad torrent, but there are many that falsely report seeders that don’t exsist.

bad torrents… http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_torrents

alright thanks. i assumed it would be somewhat more reliable bc it was an Isohunt release, guess not. Found another torrent with which i connected immediately with seeders. thanks for the help
