Chances are that your listen port is blocked, somewhere along the line, and are only able to connect to those peers to which you have “called” first (local)… whereas, if your listen port were properly configured, you would also be receiving an additional number of other peers who are “calling out” (initializing/remote) themselves.
Think of it as using the telephone… when your listen port is blocked, it’s as though you can only receive calls from those whom you have called first. When your listen port is open, however, not only are you able to talk to those whom you have called first, but also from those whom you haven’t, but want to talk to you anyway (they have received your “phone” number, through the tracker list)..
This only happened when i upgraded from .70
