DHT and start problems

Hi there, I have just started using Bitcomet and for the past few weeks have been downloading albeit at a very slow pace. I still have a grey circle for the DHT saying it isnt connected, have no idea how to fix that as I have enabled it in the options section. Also this morning when I opened Bitcomet I couldnt get the tasks to start again. I have gone through all the options, highlighted the tasks, pressed the start button, gone into options and chosen the start now option and nothing is happening. They arent even searching for connections they just have the dreaded grey circle and are sitting there doing nothing. What went wrong? All help appreciated.

This could possibly mean that your default download directory, or more specifically the directory where that specific torrent is downloading to - no longer exists.

I.e. If your download directory goes to say a removable drive, and your drive has now changed drive letters by itself, or if it’s off, BitComet will be able to find where the rest of the download is at.

I have the same prb as Kerr and just checked what you suggested and my settings are in order. Below is my error, pls advise, ty.

For starters turn off UPnP. Then go through our settings guide.

Have checked the directory everything is the same and all plugged in but no joy. Settings are as directed, I dont get an error message just nothing happens when I select a task and press start nothing happens at all.

Firstly, ignore DHT, you don’t need it for now.

Look in the trackers tab, you’ll see the result from trying to connect to the tracker. It might help to post a screenshot.

Ok ignoring DHT. Tracker report says -

What I dont understand is that I didnt change any of the settings and it was working just a few days ago.

Just tried opening a brand new task and that seems to be downloading ok, so I have no idea what I’ve done to stuff up the existing tasks or why they refuse to restart.

Try removing the stalled torrents and re-adding them, just to see what happens.

Yeah just one problem with that I dont have the original torrent saved and it doesnt seem to want to save a torrent file from the tasks I have. If I find and save the original torrent again does it mean that I have to start downloading from the beginning?

No, when you start the torrent again, it will scan (rehash) the exsisting files (providing you use the same location to save to), and continue the download.

keep in mind that the torrent will only complete if there are seeders present.

If not, then use more care in selecting the torrents you download.
