Good morning, can anybody out there please help. I have a downloaded IMAGE file and i don’t know what to do with it .It is a game from a torrent site, but i can’t open it. What do I do to get the executable setup file. All it is, is a picture of a disc saying IMAGE files. When I double click it, it opens up in Nero ready for burning. If I burn it to a disc, it still cannot be opened. Any ideas.
a disc image needs to be burned to disc as a disc image, not copying the file like a data disc. There are also many types of disc images, the most popular is a .iso file, but there are many others. You probably have your windows set to hide file extensions so you won’t know what type you have, this can be changed in your folder options within windows and once you tell us what kind of file it is, we can more accurate help. I’d also recommend browsing the disc you burned, if you see only the same disc image file on it, then you’ve burned a data disc instead of burning a disc image.
Image files can be mounted directly into a virtual drive by an application such as Daemon Tools.
It is not mandatory to burn them in order to mount the image (into a physical drive).
You can try to download a imaging SDK,which can help you open, save and download images. Then you can get the executable setup file. There is no need to burn it to a disc
