Error window pops up in lower right corner of screen.

I need help with Bitcomet

I’ve installed it onto my new W500 Lenovo laptop with Windows 7, currently using Google Chrome as my default web browser.

Ever since installing, this little IE error window appears in the bottom right corner of my screen, saying “This program cannot display the webpage”.

I cannot close it, all I can do it “go back” and it brings up a window saying “support bitcomet”, which I close.

But then the whole thing happens five minutes later, it’s really bothersome.

The only thing I can find out about this error window is that it’s an unknown protocol and the URL is: res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm#file:///C:/Users/kortad/AppData/Local/Temp/bc_cache/File_2009042200000054_en_us.mht

Could someone please help me eliminate this window that will not die?

Try going to Options–>Service and disable the option named: Enable popup BitComet tips.

See if that makes it go away.

Disabling popup tips doesn’t help.

Try moving the file it’s referencing and see what happens then. You may also want to take a look at that file, see what’s in it that might be producing a DNS error.

It would probably help us understand a little better if you posted a screenshot of this, I’m not clear on where you’re seeing the error.
