After http:// and ftp:// was added file:// will be nice. Like in reget delux.

file:// means any local file name that allows to download from windows network shares.

\pc\share\file.txt or file://pc/share/file.txt or even both.

like you can’t rewrite the computer alphbet now, it’s already made… are you bill gates 2 speak about rewriting the link alphabet?

Bittorrent wasn’t ever intended to work that way, nor will it work efficiently if tried. Seeding clients reject attempts to monopolize them, and won’t sequentially seed to one client even if it’s the only leecher in the swarm, without a lot of delay. This is the way it’s supposed to work. For direct file transfer, there are already plenty of ways to do it: that wasn’t what bittorrent was designed for.
