Folders appear when BitComet runs

I just bought a new laptop that runs Windows 8. I have BitComet 1.36. Whenever I run the program, folders appear on my desktop; folders that exist in the BitComet folder (Rules, Cache, Archive, Torrents, Share, etc). By default, there is a folder on the desktop called ‘BitComet’ that contains these exact folders that appear on the desktop. I ran BitComet on my previous laptop and did not have this issue of folders popping up. Is there an easy solution to this?

My program runs just fine. I just like my desktop to be tidy, that’s all. Any help you can provide would be great. Thanks!

Sounds like you either installed bitcomet to your desktop or you’re running a portable version from your desktop. When properly installed these folders/files will be located either in %appdata% or in your virtual store locations depending on your windows settings.

Thanks UnUsual Suspect. I think I transferred the file directly to the desktop, thus the desktop was acting like the folder. Got it figured out now. Much appreciated.
