Gmail stopped working

A few days ago when I click on the gmail tab of the cometbird 3.5.6 homepage on my PC using cable highspeed modem, I get a continuous “Redirecting” message and nothing loads. When I open up Internet Explorer (egad) I have no problem. I typically will open 3-4 tabs on cometbird and bounce back and forth from Gmail, Ebay, facebook and craigslist. Besides this, Im loving Cometbird! Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?

The “redirecting” message means that something is trying to take you to another web page instead of the one you requested. This typically suggests an infection.
