Help! Always shows Connecting. Blocked by the network in college?

Hi,

I am now currently connected to the college’s wireless network. I open my bitcomet and the torrent keeps saying ‘connecting’. I wonder is it because of the college internet which blocks peer2peer softwares?

How to solve this?

It is likely that your being blocked by your Uni.

At very least, you will not be able to forward a port for your exclusive use.

It might be possible to get your bit comet working, but without a listening port.

You will prob find download speeds very slow this way.

for starters, you can try disabling listening port, and try several torrents (be sure they have seeders)
