i m using bitcommet 0.70 for the first time and its not working
as the DHT is not connected. i checked the torrent properties and prefrences and everything look good and ticked including connect to DHT network !!!
what next
first of all try searching on the internet to check if it works if yes then another idea checked off the list go to options preferences and click choose random ports some ports are defective a simple port change can connect you
Anway. Is this for one .torrent or all of them? Because some .torrents & trackers do not allow DHT.
First, DHT is not necessary for BitComet to work. I wish it weren’t displayed so prominently, because it looks like something is seriously wrong when it’s not working. DHT is nice to have, but by no means necessary.
Second, if DHT alone is failing but normal downloading is fine, this indicates that you have UDP blocked on your listen port, so you need to change or add (depending on your firewall) a rule permitting UDP as well as TCP on that port. If normal downloading is also failing or very slow, you probably have the listen port blocked for both, and need to correct that.
