how do I remove the bitcomet icon from my desktop?

Hello, I have bitcomet 1.22 working with Windows 7.

I have an icon on my desktop which just won’t go away!

I have the bitcomet icon in my task bar but I also have this other icon on my desktop which takes me to the program. It’s like a shortcut but it isn’t a shortcut. It’s always visible, whatever windows are up there, it just shines right on through. And I can’t see any way on earth to get rid of it.

Can anyone help me? I’d be most grateful.

The BitComet floating window can be disabled by right clicking the icon in the systray (taskbar as you say) and then clicking on the toggle “Floating Window”

You can also disable the floating windows from the “view” menu item in bitcomet.

You can drop magnet links on the floating window to start torrent downloads, JIC you were wondering what it’s good for.
