How to add additional processes that Bit Comet can handle

I have used Bit Comet for many years and am currently at a very high level…my question is if I am trying to process say 20 torrents at the same time it will only allow me to handle up to te. Is there a way I can increase this amount??

I would think that trying to run 20 simultaneous downloads would really slow down your transfer rates
