How to change my default video player at Bitcomet

After I have downloaded the newer version of BitComet I was asked to select my default video player. I changed to VLC player which could not work when I wanted to preview the vedio downloaded. I now have downloaded MPCstar, please advise how can I switch back to MPCstar as my default player when I wanted to preview at Bitcomet.

Also there is another problem with my MPCstar, there is no audio coming out and that was my reason why I changed to VLC player. Is there a solution to solve this. When I played with other player software, there was no problem and sound came out. The problem is only with MPCstar.

Thanks.

This is a good question. Being I don’t use preview, I’ve never changed it, but I just tried it and selected Media Player Classic as my default. Now I don’t see an option anywhere to change that. I also looked at my .xml files and I don’t see any entry in them identifying that player.

Ariel, can we get an answer from development on this, and when we do, would someone make an entry in the wiki to reflect this.

Also, I’d like to request the ability to change this be added to the options menu.

It’s in the Wiki FAQ: How to change the default media player in BitComet.

Ok, this is weird… I looked at every entry, twice, two different times before posting. I literally read each one four times and it wasn’t there, but is now…

I highly suspect gremlins at work here lol

and if you are using 1.27, the newer version may have a longer list in the option-advanced.

but in the bottom of the list you can still find this change option.

I just tested change to another player not MPC Star and it works.

TUUS, that topic has been there for quite a long time.

I’m not sure which one of us wrote it, all I can remember is that it certainly wasn’t me.

When I saw both this user’s and your posts I instantly remembered that this was in the FAQ so it’s not new.

Except the link towards the topic (from the main FAQ page) was broken, therefore I’ve fixed it yesterday. But I had nothing to do with the topic.

I think I have to plead guilty to writing this.

The feature was a big deal when it was finally put in there. We were getting a lot of crap about how the old previewer “proved” that BitComet was adware just then.

This is also about the time of the Wikipedia wars, when corrections and changes would just disappear.
