Hello there. It seems that every time I try to download a torrent now via BitComet it keeps on coming back as an error and saying ‘invalid menu handle’. Can anyone help me to resolve this so I can download torrents via BitComet again as it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
This seems to be a nasty, persistent problem with no clear resolution. When you have a torrent you want to download, save it to disk somewhere, then open the saved torrent.
(Impressive error, btw. It seems to have been reported in every bittorrent client at some point or other, as well as Lotus Notes, Eudora and others. No clear explanation (make that “no explanation at all”) of it from Microsoft, no resolution, and various more-or-less workarounds. And it’s been going on for years, first cropping up with NT.)
Try also dumping your temporary internet files folder, and emptying your recycle bin thereafter. That works for some people sometimes.

Cheers for the response, it’s greatly appreciated. Anyway, in the meantime I’ve unistalled and reinstalled BitComet and things seem to be working finr now. Cheers for the advice all the same though!
