I'm sorry if this may be the wrong area?

When ever I try to download a torrent (no matter what bittorrent program I am using), my computer seems to work fine, then slow down, then either reboot itself or freeze up. I don’t know what I am doing wrong or don’t know what is happening, but I am only able to download at least 19MB at a time before the computer goes haywire. All I know is that I am using Win ME with a Charter 5MB downloading speed, no firewall program, and my computer specs are able to handle the use of bittorrent programs (mostly Bitcomet or Azeurus) that I use. I don’t know if it could be anything else causing this.

Also, I only use one program at a time and the download I am trying to get is 5GB.

Again, I apologize for putting this here, but I didn’t know where to put this topic. :frowning:

I advise that you upgrade your operating system. WinME is an outdated operating system, not much better then windows 95.

If you have an older computer, then windows 2000 would be a good choice, or even windows NT.

I also recommend you run several good anti spyware scans, as I have seen this behavior from badly infected computers more then once.

Suspect

From my own experience its better to just go to XP. I have it running on a Pentium 233! On that computer it runs better than 2000 did.

If you need a XP disc go to Demonoid and get a copy of Pro or Media Center Edition. If you need a WGA mod pm me.

Thank you very much for your help! I should be able to upgrade soon.
