just wondering…i notice some downloads stop at a certain point and it is hard to find seeders..say if it was a movie file is it possible to play the incomplete file? or burn it to a cd for that matter?

Bit Comet does have a function to play incomplete video files, but this is a far from perfect way to view video.
As for burning them to disc, many dvd players cannot handle incomplete files, and might just freeze when they get to an incomplete frame.
The best option is to get your movies from a reliable source, and avoid torrents that arn’t seeded.

On my comet the files got to 90-99% & just stop
The same thing will happen with any other client, if nobody in the swarm has the entire torrent’s content.

There is many reasons why a torrent won’t complete, in some cases the missing parts just aren’t available. This is the most common and also the easiest to avoid. If you avoid torrents that aren’t seeded you will rarely (if ever) have this problem. There are also some cases where some routers change the content of some pieces of data, forcing the client to discard it. This can usually be fixed by changing the settings in the problematic router. There are also cases where antivirus or security software detect a threat (real or false threat) and disable the suspected infection which will make the torrent never complete and the same piece/s will be downloaded over and over and get disabled each time.
