is it okay to turn off ip filter option?
since the purpose of ip filter is to keep bad peers away right?
It’s purpose is to interface with an external file, which must be named “ipfilter.dat”, and be in an exact format, which will then refuse to connect to/allow connections with those listed in that file. But it’s up to you to create or obtain the file itself, and make sure it’s in the right format. So if you’re not using this feature or don’t have such a file, then you can safely turn that option off.
It’s better to use a free program called PeerGuardian2 for this purpose anyway.
