I want to know if it is legal to use p2p programs in US to share copyrighted works such as music, movies or games. (i am from Canada where nearly everything is legal)

I heard that in the past years, thousand of music downloaders were imposed a 2000 usd fine.

No in the USA it is not legal to share copyrighted works through p2p.

However Bittorrent and other p2p methods are not illegal.
