keeps saying "connecting..." but doesn't ever work

Hi. I just started using BitComet…tried the regular bittorrent client and another one, but they were very slow. I have been trying to get a couple of episodes of “Life on Mars” that I missed. The first one I tried with BitComet, episode 5, downloaded really fast, it was great! I’ve been trying to download episode 6, but it is not working. In the status bar it just says “Connecting…” I have three trying right now and none of them will work.

Where it says “Tracker Status” the first one says “Tracker Response OK, reannounce in 300 s”.

The second one says “Connecting tracker to say start, waiting for response” and the third one says, “Connecting tracker, waiting for response”.

What does this mean, is there just no one out there connected that has the episode for me to download? I’ve been trying for a couple of days now. I don’t have any firewall installed. I am using 0.70. I have DSL.

It is most likely that those are dead torrents. Check your PM.

I’ve found that when the download speed is great for one torrent, and then s*** for another torrent, then the problem is the torrent. Thats nothing you can fix. Just find another source. :slight_smile:
