Once or twice ive managed to get something above 10kbps… but its very rare. Max download speed is just under 200 from good sites, so I know its not that.
Checked http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and it said I was good to go, although i’m blatanly not.

Both modem and router are devices wich have different functions to do. Modem is used to connect you to internet by phone company, as you’ve said but you can still have router behind the modem and shar connection with the others. I am not sure to be honest what do you have. I believe you use modem but not sure if you also have router …
Do you use only modem or modem and router?
I use a box which the phoneline plugs into which then plugs into my pc via usb.
Just those connectors, only 1 person can use it at a time.
Has no writing on it, I dont even know what make it is but it was provided by our phone company and when we tried another router it kept dropping the connection.
That port checker said we were fine though, or could this still be the problem?
Tried a few torrent links people had said would go as fast as possible, and they just sat there at 0kb/ps, creeping up to 5 tops.
