mpcstar

Hi all, I’m new here & don’t know if I’m in the right place for help with MPCStar or not, but I want to know if the video size in the latest version can be permanently set somehow.

With previous versions of MPCStar, setting the zoom to 200% would allow the window to open to exactly the same size every time, regardless of the actual video size.

Now, with version 4.6, the window size is different for every file regardless of the zoom setting. There is a ‘fixed size’ option in the zoom menu, but I have no idea what the purpose of this setting is because it does nothing. Videos still open in varying sizes with this option enabled.

I don’t want to adjust the window size every single time I open a file.

Hi duansy, the video size cannot be permanently set.

With previous versions of MPCStar

Which version was that?

We have tested MPCStar 4.5, 4.6, and 4.7, all of them showed that, if I play a movie with 200% zoomed window, then quit and restart MPCStar, the window will be as big as 200% zoomed, however when I start to play a movie at this time, the window will shrink to 100%, which is the default setting.

The Fixed size only works when you don’t exit MPCStar, such as watch movies from the playlist continually.

The proper section of your problem will be the MPCStar General Discussions sub-forum.

To be honest I don’t know what the older version was, because when I upgraded I deleted the old setup file, but it would have been about 12 months old or more = older than 4.5

Wish I hadn’t deleted it now because I would uninstall 4.6 & reinstall the old one if I hadn’t, it bugs me that much. I was very happy with Mpcstar before, but things like this really put me off -

I find it extremely irritating having to adjust the video size every time I open a new file. 100% zoom can very from a 2 inch square box in the middle of the screen to full screen size depending on the resolution of the particular file. Very annoying if you ask me.

I’d like to suggest that this be rectified in future versions.

Also, today whilst using Mpcstar’s Comet Player to play mp3 files, it has frozen on me like a stuck vinyl record, then shut down, & I have got a windows message saying that ‘Comet Player has experienced a problem & needs to close’.

Overall, I’m pretty unimpressed, to say the least.

Well, until you’ll find a version that works as you wish, if you still want to use MPCStar you can download any of the older versions from here.

Hi duansy, did CometPlayer freeze everytime it tries to play that mp3 file or did it just happen once? What is your operating system by the way?
