For the past month or so a new popup has appeared on my screen. As soon as click on - for example a magnet link - the popup below appears. I am hoping it’s been generated by Bitcomet as your name appears on the popup. I would like to know how to disable it.

I think that’s your OS or browser asking confirmation. Check the ‘always open…with..’ and it should go away
Hi Rhubarb, I have checked the ‘always open…’ ( a great many times) but it is just ignored and keeps on popping up
As I said, that’s usually browser related as the browser doesn’t know what to do with a .torrent file when you start a download.
Hence the 'what do I do with this' message
This is not generayed by Bitcomet, it’s your browser. It sees you have bitcomet installed and asks you to confirm using it. You will need to set BC as default in your browser to stop this, obypass your browser by copy/paste the link in BC.
I told him that at the start but he didn’t believe me LOL

the ideas about the popup have been discussed here nicely. POP-UPs are forms of online advertising. It is showing on my OS. If you face the same issue, please share with us.
Of course there are adverts - how do you think the server and website are paid for?
