OK im running version 0.79
This morning i was downloading fine but then i reset my computer and now its changed
The huge panel that displays what Im downloading is completely blank… If I download something it downloads fine but i am unable to see whats downloading and how long it has to go…
Can anyone help?
Oh and im running windows XP home
This suggests an issue with your video driver, so you may have better luck with a stable version of BitComet. You might also want to wait and see if the issue is temporary and clears itself up after a few minutes. (Not that that’s a solution.)
Iv restarted my computer twice and waited a couple hours so i doubt its temporary…
I have attempted 2 install version 0.7 but it comes up with an error when i try and install it
“Error opening file for writing”
I get the same message with earlier versions also
Is there any way I can resolve the issue with my video driver? Or is there a way to get V0.7 without the error message?

Try a clean install of 0.70 by uninstalling the other version, then deleting the program directory. Then reboot, and install 0.70
As for the video issue, we don’t even know what kind of video card you have.
Sorry its a ATI Mobility Radeon X700

Ok im now running 0.7 but i still cant see what im downloading…
I’ve seen the issue before, and even encountered it myself, but haven’t been able to pin it down. It eventually went away by itself, but I was doing a lot of reconfiguring in the meantime.
Try removing the radeon drivers completely, which will revert you to standard VGA. Reboot, cancel any “new hardware found” displays, and try running BitComet as a test. Then reinstall your radeon driver.
Check for a driver update. If there isn’t one, or if there is but it doesn’t work, see if you can find an Omega driver for your card and OS, and try that.
Now that you have a “clean install”, you will need to restart the torrent files for each torrent.
Be sure your partial or complete files are in the proper download location you select, then after checking the files, they will either begin to download and/or seed.
If your previous progress doesn’t display, then please stop the torrent, do a manual rehash, then resume when it’s finished. As long as your files are in the correct location, this will work.

I reinstalled my drivers…
And everything seems to be working fine now…
