I have tried multiple different file types.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing.
I have checked the sound on my PC.
I have tried Versions 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3.
I still get no sound.
Any help at all would be great because I use this program to watch movies all the time and I haven’t been able to in a few weeks.
KMV or VLC have sound but MPC Star not have sound.

after downloading 5.4 i lost the audio in the player i see the how to that was sent but i am computer illiterate can some one help walk me thru it
i also see that if i download an .smf file and play it it will restore the audio where can i find a flash file with that extension to download and see if it works

I also had a same problem no sound on MPCstar after the virus scan, even I uninstall and reinstall the MPCstar5,4, the problem remain, any one can help?
I also have this issue, for me though it is not with any file though, only mp4’s. Those same mp4’s play with no problems in every other media player on my computer.I have cntrl-I’d but the information there is unreadable to the average human. =) I would spend the next 30 minutes-hours on this issue, but, (distracted by the OTHER free player known for their llamas).
But in all seriousness, If there is an answer to this, please resolve?

Have you opened a .swf file recently?
ive had this issue with this player before, i open a swf file and i just close the player, then next time i try to open a video file it is completely mute,
what i have to do is open a .swf file again,
then once the player loads with the file you will here sound from it,
now that you here the sound you need to load a file by pressing Ctrl+O
this SHOULD bring back the sound,
this will only work if the sound went away AFTER you had opened flash file, if you here sound when you load a flash file i think this will also work
