I just bought the 10gb VIP for $5

I then proceeded to spend it on a 900mb torrent that i had gotten 50% through, the whole time it was downloading i had the message “VIP Acceleration is enabled. Preparing your download channel…” and the bandwidth has been used up.

Did this just take my bandwidth without actually doing anything?

I also have another torrent that has been on VIP for a bit over half an hour and just changed to ready. It doesn’t seem to be making any difference in speed but i wouldn’t expect much practically no one is seeding.

I only have a screenshot of the latest torrent but it was basically that with “VIP Acceleration is enabled. Preparing your download channel…” the whole time it was downloading.

VIP Accelleration is a peer who has a really fast connection, and who joins the swarm of the torrent you specify, to download rapidly and send what it downloads, only to you.

If your situation is such that having a peer like that won’t help you – (if there are no seeders, for example), then VIP accelleration won’t help you.
