hola atodos mi problema es que no se que puerto he de poner ya que tengo 1mg y no se que cantidad

poner y mas adelante me pondre 3mg y quisiera saber si el puerto debe ser el mismo o no ya que en estos momentos no me llega ni a 60 kb entre todos los archivos en friware de windos lo tengo con la opcion

de excepciones i ya no se que mas hacer para que descargue como tiene que descargar ya que se dice que bitcomet va siempre a maxima velocidad espero si alguien me pudiera ayudar

Hello to all.

My problem is that I don’t know which port to choose, as I have a 1Mb [connection] and don’t know what quantity to put. Later on, I’ll be getting 3Mb and I’d like to know if the port should be the same one or not - at this time, it doesn’t even reach 60kb between all of the files. The Windows firewall has been set to exceptions, and I don’t know what else to try so that it downloads as it should (as it’s being said that BitComet always works at top speed). I hope that somebody can help me.

Cuando dices que tienes 1mg (un miligramo) ¿quieres decir que tu conexión es de 1 Megabit?

¿Te refieres a que tu velocidad de descarga no llega a los 60 Kilobits o KiloBytes?

¿Estás descargando más de un archivo a la vez? Si es así, ésta es una de las razones que bien el usuario como los demás en el enjambre, obtengan velocidades lentísimas - sólo deberías estar activando un archivo a la vez, porque no tienes el suficiente ancho de banda para poder “estirarse” entre todos los demás.

Si pudieras tomar unos minutos y contestar las preguntas esenciales (mira en mi firma, abajo), nos aportarías más información con la que poder diagnosticar tu problema.

También, si no te importa, escribe tus preguntas de una forma “normalita y corriente” (que no parezca un SMS), para que resulte más fácil de traducir (y que no tenga que adivinar), por favor.

I’ve just translated your question, but I still have some dubts as to having understood it correctly.

When you say that you have a 1mg (one milligram), do you mean that you have a 1Megabit connection?

Ditto for when you say

it doesn’t even reach 60kb between all of the files

Do you mean that your dowload speed doesn’t reach 60 Kilobits or KiloBytes?

Are you downloading more than one file at a time? If this is so, this is one of the reasons that both the user, as well as others in the swarm, will get very slow download speeds - you should only be running one file at a time, because you don’t have enough bandwidth to “stretch out” between the rest of the peers.

If you could take a few moments to answer the essential questions (see my sig, below), you’d be providing us with more information with which to diagnose your problem.

Also, if you don’t mind, please write up your questions in a “simple, everyday manner” (so it doesn’t look like a SMS), so that it makes it easier to translate (and I don’t have to guess).

gracias cassie por tu ayuda haber si me puedo explicar un poco mejor de conexion adsl tengo una mega y en telefonica me dijeron que de desgarga de archivos tenia un maximo de 125 kb y no llega ni a 60kb

en la pestaña superior de opciones en conexiones en puerto de escucha me parece que yo lo toque y lo desconficure y quisiera saber cual es puerto por defecto para que funcione bien, tu cassie en tu puerto de escucha, que cifra de numeros te pone a mi me pone 8940

espero que me disculpes ya que no estoy muy enterado en este mundo de internet

cassie es decir los 125 kb se tienen que repartir entre todos los archivos que estes descargando ya sean 5 o 15 a la vez pero dime que puerto tienes tu

For my connection, I have ADSL 1 Mb and Telefónica (ISP) told me that for the downloading of files I had a maximum of 125kb but, it doesn’t even reach 60kb.

In the Options-Connections top tab, under listen port, I think that I touched it and I disconfigured it. I would like to know what the default port is, so that it will work well. You, cassie, in your listen port, what number does it say - on mine it says 8940?

I hope that you forgive me, as I’m not very well versed in this Internet world.

Cassie, what you mean is that the 125 kb have to be shared between all of the files that you’re downloading, be they 5 or 15 at a time? Tell me, what port do you have?

Regarding the port you use. Any port in the 50,000 to 60,000 range will do fine, so long as no other program is using it.

The speed of your connection does not effect which port you use, and as long as the port isn’t being blocked by your router, firewall, or other security program, it will not cause slow speeds.

I suggest you throughly go through our settings guide, and refrain from running more torrents then your bandwidth can support.

Referente al puerto que uses, cualquier puerto comprendido entre 50.000 y 60.000 servirá bien, con tal que no lo use otro programa.

La velocidad de tu conexión no afecta cuál puerto usas y, con tal de que el puerto no esté bloqueado por tu rúter, cortafuegos u otro programa de seguridad, no será la causa de velocidades lentas.

Yo sugiero que leas detenidamente nuestra Guía de Ajustes y, abstente de activar más torrents de lo que puede soportar tu ancho de banda.

Lo que los de Telefónica no te dicen (muy listos, ellos) es que ellos miden la velocidad en bits, pero BitComet lo hace en Bytes (1 Byte = 8 bits). Por tanto, tu ancho de banda Total es de 125 KBytes - ya lo uses para descargar archivos, navegar por Internet, o ambas cosas a la vez.

Si lees la Guía de Ajustes cuidadosamente, verás que si configuras BitComet a un 80% de tu ancho de banda, se te queda ésta cifra en unos 100KB como máximo, para todo lo que hace (Descargas y Subidas). Lo he comprobado, haciendo varios tests de velocidad y, ésta es la realidad.

Yo tengo la misma conexión que tú (no uso rúter, sólo módem - no sé si tú tienes rúter o no) y he tenido que ponerle un “tope” a mi velocidad máxima global de Subida de 32KB, a repartir entre 8 ranuras máximas de Subida.

En cuanto al puerto, yo escogí uno al azahar - 55555 - ya que, como decimos, no afecta la velocidad.

Si yo dejase el máxmo (125KB) en BitComet, ni podría usar la Red (se ralentizaría asombrosamente), ni podría ofrecerle a ningún miembro del enjambre nigún tipo de velocidad digno (lo que, a su vez, disminuiría mi velocidad de descarga) - y ésto activando un solo torrent a la vez.

Espero que todas estas sugerencias te ayuden a poner tu cliente “a punto” y que entiendas, un poquito mejor, la dinámica del mismo.

What Telefónica doesn’t tell you (very smart of them) is that they measure the speed in bits but, BitComet does it in Bytes (1 Byte = 8 bits). This is why your Total bandwidth is 125 KBytes - whether you use it to download files, surfing the Web, or both things at the same time.

If you read the Settings Guide carefully, you’ll see that if you configure BitComet to 80% of your bandwidth, this figure will result in approximately 100KB at maximum, for everything it does (Downloads and Uploads). I’ve done various speed tests and this is the reality of it.

I have the same type of connection as you (I don’t use a router, only a modem - I don’t know if you have a router or not) and I’ve had to “cap” my global max upload to 32KB, to be shared between 8 max upload slots.

As for the port, I chose one at random - 55555 - as, how we said, it doesn’t affect the speed.

If I were to leave the maximum (125KB) in BitComet, I wouldn’t be able to use the Net (it would idle amazingly), nor could I offer any member of the swarm any dignified speed (wich, in turn, would lower my download speed) - and all of this, by running one single torrent at a time.

I hope that all of these suggestions will help you “tune up” your client and, that you understand its dynamics a little bit better.

PS - I’ve never been able to exceed 51KB with any dowload, regardless of how good its Health Status was…
