I want to make my download speeds faster however I am on a college campus so I do not have a router and am sort of unsure about the whole static IP thing. I know there is no router but at the same time I will obviously have a different gateway and IP. Thanks for any help, I have already read the guide on how to change it but it didn’t work too well.
your collage lan does indeed have a router, but its not likely you would be given a listening port to use for bit torrent.
I would enable nat traversal in your advanced connections. You might want to try using a proxy for tracker comunication as well. These settings might help, but are a poor substitute for an open listening port.
Worst case, you can disable your listening port.
