Refreshing status

I have a suggestion for the next version of bitcomet:

I would like to see a refreshing download list.

So what do I mean by that? I mean that if i sort my downloads for time left. With the current version it does not update the list if time left changes.

Thats what I would like to see!

Thanks,

Bob

What he is talking about is a active, constantly self-updating sort.

That is, you can’t just sort the task list according to the current time-left and leave it. Rather, you would need to constantly re-check and re-sort as the time changes.

This would, obviously, divert many resources from downloading to keeping that list sorted. You’d have to decide how often to re-sort, or else you’d have to refresh constantly.

If there ever is such an option, it certainly needs to be turned off by default and easily turned off. I doubt most people would want BitComet wasting much time doing this, and will think the resources this would require would be better spent on almost anything else.

Perhaps announcements could be incorporated?

“… And they’re off! Coming into the stretch, it’s Tori Amos’ album in the lead, followed by the Mel Gibson movie and the Lost Season II bringing up the rear… Into the near corner, with Amos losing a little ground and Lost coming up on the rail… it’s still anybody’s race here as they come up on the halfway marker…”

Dang! I had $20 on Lost.

Maybe, but other good clients have this feature and bitcomet would be perfect when it did.

And it just a offline opperation, so it wont affect performance. Also the CPU load would be minimal.

uTorrent has a constantly updating ETA column. Personally I think estimating time of completion on a torrent is perhaps the single least accurate piece of information in a torrent client, so I disable the display completely, but if you want this added to bitcomet, you should make the suggestion in feature requests. This has nothing at all to do with forum suggestions.
