I was using BitComet when my computer was disconnected from the internet. Is there any way I can roll back to insure that my downloads are not corrupted? Or does BitComet roll back by itself whenever it’s disconnected? If so, how much does it roll back? Thanks.
Hi there.
Well, BitComet can check integrity of finished task on completion - just option “Task” - “When download…” - “Hash check…” must be ON. Or you may manually stop your task and make “Manual Hash Check”. Either way, if an error is found, BitComet considers whole damaged piece (check “Piece size” of your particular torrent) as “rubbish data” and redownloads this piece anew.
Unlike FTP or HTTP, BitTorrent protocol uses exchange of pieces of fixed size. So “rollback”, when needed, is for Nx(piece_size) bytes, where N stands for number of pieces that fail integrity check aka hashing.
