Slow Torrent Task Startup

I have tried recent versions of BitComet such as 1.25 and it takes forever for the properties task window to appear. From the time I click on open a torrent, it takes almost a minute for the window to appear in 1.25. So— I have gone back to version 1.13 that takes about 15 seconds. All other aspects work fine. This is not a matter of having to start BitComet as it is already loaded, sometimes already handling other torrents (up & Down). Is anybody else having this problem?

My computer has a P3-933 mhz processor, running XP sp3. It seems to me this should be a straight forward process with a window popping up immediately.

I haven’t experienced this problem, but my computer is much faster, so that may be an issue. Can you please try the latest version and let us know if this problem is present?

You can download the .zip version if you don’t want to install it, just unzip it and run the .exe. Make sure BitComet isn’t already running when you do this.

You could also try rebooting the system, then immediately trying this again and seeing if it’s still slow then.
