I am looking and looking but do not see the mechanism for adding tool bars to Cometbird.I may be missing something obvious right now. I came back to this because for some reason I can only log into my hotmail account on this browser - Firefox and Chrome will not open hotmail right now.

Hmmm… I’m afraid that I can’t help you inasfar as adding a toolbar to CometBird but, I’m using Firefox right now and I’ve had no problems accessing my hotmail accounts…perhaps it was a problem with Hotmail and not the browser, itself?
Always me no matter what I do I can’t get into my mailbox. But at least Cometbird is letting me in. I really prefer to read my mail in the browser than the windows 8.1 mail client.
Try doing a google search for “how to add toolbars to firefox version X.xx” (where X.xx=your cometbird version). The procedure would be the same for both browsers.
