it gives me this message when i try to download torrent cannot open target folder it says in the status bar stoped and there is an red x by each item i want to download

What operating system are you using?
This sounds like you are logged in as a user without permissions to use folders in the program files directory.
I would try changing your default download folder to “my documents” or to a new folder on your desktop.
Suspect
I have the same problem, it says the same. It started in the beginning of october. I have win wp sp2 and the bitcomet client i run is 0.71 > 0.70 i have tested the beta and now i have the stable again.
