Total DL much higher than actual DL

Hi all,

I’m currently facing the problem with DL speeds/rates. I’m currently DL-ing one task, and it goes around 60-70kb/s, however, Bitcomet shows me that it is downloading at 200-400kb/s! When I check my bandwidth usage, it really is going at 200-400kb/s, but I’m absolutely positive I’m only DL-ing one task. Help!

I started having this problem when I switched to 1.16. I’m currently back at 1.15, but still having the same problem.

I’m connected to the internet via a usb device plugged in to my com’s usb port. So no routers or anything.

I’m using Windows XP Home. Anti-virus is AVG Anti-Virus Free.

Would really appreciate any help I can get =)

What type of Internet connection do you have? At what speed?

Where in BitComet do you see the 200-400 speeds?

You’re also being pretty careless with your units, and that may be the root of your problem.

A Byte = 8 bits. One bit is too small to be of much use in most applications including Bittorrent, so we measure everything including speed, not in Kilobits, but in KiloBytes. 1 KB = 8 Kb. Capitalization is everything.

You need to make sure all of your measurements use the same units.
