Video and audio files have encoded audio levels that are designed to play upto 100%. Forcing them to play higher distorts them. What you need to do is turn the volume up on your speakers or sound card.
u r right, i do agree with u, but it doesnt distort in vlc player, even if u go beyond 100%.u can check it with vlc player.
i think distortion is much more higher, sudden and out of proportion.
means if from 100% u go to even at 110%its so loud n then till 300% it hardly changes any.
wht i do, i keep vlc and mpcstar both in my system ,movies which sounds ok till 100% i see with mpcstar n for movies which r having low sound n i need to increase sound more than 100% i see with vlc player.
but honestly i like mpcstar more than vlc.
because of this reason only i keep vlc in my system.
means i think u ppl can do something for smooth increase of sound onwards 100%, it should be techanically not much probelamatic for u guys.
Ok, I see what your saying, and I think I found the cause. This setting is like an audio boost service, and if you turn it on while your regular volume is on full, it can sound distorted and annoying.
Try this for a work a round…
Open volume control panel and reduce sliders to about half volume.
Then go to increase volume levels above 100% (I used 150% for my test).
Then you can adjust the sliders to fine tune your volume.
We aren’t the development team, so we can not speculate on the next release. I know they are working on other issues, so hopefully as soon as some of them are resolved.
ariel, can you confirm you’ve read this and understand the issue?
Basically if a user turns the volume to max, and it still isn’t high enough, so they find the setting to increase beyond 100%, but get horrible results.
It seems to work well if you don’t begin with the volume on max, but anyone trying to get the sound louder will have it on max before trying this.
Surely something can be done to simplify this, such as integrating this volume boost into the volume control gui. Perhaps having a check box with a dropdown menu where you can select 110%, 120%, etc and have it automatically reduce the volume slider control to half position when this is enabled, so the user can then adjust it to their liking without a drastic and horrible sound from their speakers.
