What does a "red cross" mean?

Hi,

I notice a dl task would turn from a green arrow to a red cross and then the dl speed would become zero, % of completion would become 100%…yet all the trackers and seeds are there. I would have to restart the task and continue my previous dl…

It is really annoying to restart all the task, could someone tell me what does that mean and possibly how to fix it? Thanks!!!

This almost always indicates an error writing to disk. It can be caused because the disk is full, because the process does not have write-permission to the directory, or a physical disk error. The second cause is the most common.
