Wi-fi + torrent = any good?

Basically, i’m using my laptop in an area where I can catch a Wireless network… That means I have no control over any kind of router of any sort… My question is, is there still any way to make torrents work? I heard alot about opening port etc… i’m just really new to all this networking thing..

Hi,

If you are using someone else’s wireless network, and have no access to the router, then you cannot configure the ports. The will effect your download speed considerably.

I sometimes run torrents on my wireless, and they work quite well.
