XVID files

I know you can burn several 700mb films to Data DVD with Nero, what I want to know is can you do the same with XVID files

yes, works the same as divx and avi

xvid, as well as divx can be burnt to any data disc, and some dvd players will play them, most will not.

If your goal is to make a dvd that most, or all players will play, then the answer is no, you would need to reencode the video to do that.

Suspect

Does this apply to data CD’s of avi file aswell, will they play on a DVD player or only PC.

very few dvd players will play .avi files

If your player will play .avi files, then you can burn to CDr or DVDr discs.

When converting .avi to DVD, your video will be about four times the size, if you want the quality to be equal. So 1gb file.avi, will require an entire DVDr disc 4.38gb

Thanks

Bought myself a DVD player that plays Divx And it works perfectly with the first data disc I’ve tried.Burnt all 24 episodes of 24-season 4 to two discs.Hdtv aswell, previously I was burning two episodes to 1 DVD.
