DevilsOrAngels
Recently, i got a tracker problem with Bitcomet 1.13 ... Tracker responce : A system call that should never fail has failed ... i tried many torrents with different trackers but all responce the same ! After update to 1.14 it didnt work as well but when i switched to utorrent i found out that the tracker's fine so far . Dunno what wrong with Bitcomet :( Also when i looked at the files option i saw that there're long time seed for this file but i couldnt connect to these ... are there some ways to connect to them ? Because my torrent stuck at 90% and i need long time seed to finish downloading it Sorry for my bad english <_<
kluelos
I see that you are seeding four tasks while trying to download one. That's probably a big part of your problem. All five of those tasks are struggling for a portion of your limited upload bandwidth, and your download task is getting clobbered in the struggle. (Notice its upload rate.) That means that, for this torrent, you seem to be contributing very little, and are an undesirable connection, so your download rate for that torrent will be very slow. I'd suggest you try stopping all but one of your other tasks. Most people's connections can only support one downloading and one seeding task at a time. You can try carefully adding another, but you'll need to keep a close eye on the upload rates for all tasks, and if they start to suffer, you'll know that's too many tasks. I did just like what u told me.Stop all the others and just one left but the problem's still there ... tracker still responce : A system call that should never fail has failed . The problem i'm asking about is about the tracker connect not the download :( Also is there something wrong with the long time seed mode ? When i first open the torrent there're a lot of long time seed connect but after that none of them stil remain connecting to me and completedly disappear >_< (i opened only one torrent like u said) Noticed that everytimes i use manual connect they'll reappear but just for a moment they'll disappear again ! Here is the image compare tracker between Bitcomet and utorrent ! Edited August 2, 2009 by DevilsOrAngels (see edit history)
kluelos
Are you running Vista? (When you ask for help, it's a good idea to disclose the operating system you're using.) If so, have you tried resetting your winsock and IP stack? (The screenshots you post are so busy, so full of other tasks, that it's pretty hard to sort things out. If those tasks aren't active, why don't you remove them? You can also use the VIEW menu options to temporarily remove the bookmark pane and further unclutter your screenshots.) Your issues with LT seeding are more difficult to resolve. The whole process is undocumented and has never been explained by the programmers, so we don't know how it's supposed to work or if it does. What you describe though, sounds like the list is being updated from a server, and revised when you get a response. This would account for the list being populated, then depopulated a few moments later: you were seeing old data, possibly from a different torrent, in that memory space, removed when the client receives and displays the updated list. DevilsOrAngels
I'm running Window Xp SP3 ... i think the problem is something relative to winsock as well cause i have been using window xp sp 3 and bitcome for 2 years and have no problem at all but just after reinstalling the window (three days ago) the tracker problem happened ! P/s: i like to keep my list :D and nvm about the long time seed thing <_<
kluelos
Try resetting your winsock from the command shell with the netsh command, which should be C:\> netsh winsock reset
DevilsOrAngels
I know what wrong now ! This is a bug of Bitcomet i think i'll post it in Bitcomet's bug report ! The problem causing by tcpip.sys's modified by bitcomet ! if u use bitcomet to modify it directly the problem will happen . All u need is delete the tcpip.sys and replace it with the original one ! kluelos
The support staff have been telling people not to use that patch for a long while now. There's no evidence that changing the connection limit speeds up transfers, and strong historical evidence that it does not. Meanwhile any patched system that gets taken over by malware can be used for SYN-flood denial-of-service attacks. Glad you thought of that, and that it worked.
