ddallsp
Hey guys, I recently switched to uTorrent 1.8.4 but sometimes I have a problem. I will have seeders, but it won't download. I have one file I've been trying to download for about 2 weeks now. It has (at the moment) 55 seeders, but it's not connecting to any of them. I have another file that has over 1800 seeders that rarely moves, and when it does it's usually less than 1.0kB. Any help? Thanks
greywizard
Read this. What does the Peers tab show?

kluelos
If you've visited the µtorrent support forums, it's not too surprising people would look for a less hostile and more helpful place to get answers.
cassie
Wadda 'ya mean hostile??? I thought that they had to pass an entrance exam to see just how inhospitable and unwelcoming they could be... :P
kluelos
We could probably tell more from a screenshot of your PEERS tab, but it's possible that you have a fake torrent. It reports multiple seeders, but they don't actually exist. These are common with very recent material - films or albums. It's also possible that your settings have made you a very undesirable trade partner. You'd usually see your download rate decline over about 20 minutes, then finally tank and stay at or near zero. If you shut down your client, restart it, and see this process repeat, that's likely the case. You're not giving enough back, and eventually all of the peers in the swarm have given up on you in favor of someone who's faster and more reliable to trade with.
