greywizard
Hehehe... you will need to open your listen port before you will be able to reach max downloading speeds for your connection. My max speed for uploading is to 15kb & uploading speed can be 60kb.I really have a hard time understanding what you mean by this.... internet speed 54.0 mbpsI'm assuming that you are connected wireless to your router, so that you speak about the speed of your wireless connection. If it is so, this is your local wireless LAN's speed, not your Internet connection's speed....using a router (my router is connected to the modem)Now, this is a very important piece of information. Before we can help you any further you need to provide us with the make and model of both two devices (modem and router). Until you do that there is no telling how can your network be configured.I had done the speed test, shown results are 19.98 mb/8mb.Are you sure that the upload speed is 8Mb/s? What type of Internet connection do you have (xDSL, cable, fiber optics)?

It's Linksys something. I actually done it just now. But after i restart my comp, evrything gone. & now, i've to redo but i already forgotten the steps i done.. Are you sure that the upload speed is 8Mb/s? greywizard
meaning the maximum of upload is only 15kb.Reheheally? Whose maximum upload? And what was the 60kb about?errrm... den how do i check my internet speed?Your advertised Internet speed should be marked on your Internet contract. The real speed you can determine by doing a speed test like the one you say you did. I was only asking if you are sure you read correctly the results and your reported upload speed was 8Mb? It's Linksys something.Well, that's just as unhelpful as the previous info you gave about your modem and router. Besides, how am I supposed to guess which of your 2 devices is a Linksys?I can understand that computers are not your area of expertise but that doesn't exonerate you from paying attention, if you really intend to get any help. Otherwise you can always cash out the proper amount and have someone come at your place and fix your problem for you. ;) OTOH, if you do want to solve that by yourself you need to start paying attention to details. Fixing things on your own, always involves learning some. Take both of your devices in your hand and inspect them carefully. There is usually some string made up of letters and numbers, following the name (like Linksys WAP54G). If you can't see that on the front of the device, turn it upside down; on the label from the back you will usually find the model. I actually done it just now. But after i restart my comp, evrything gone. & now, i've to redo but i already forgotten the steps i done..You have done what? Not that I really need to know, but if you go through the trouble of saying something, make sure it does make sense. My question: Are you sure that the upload speed is 8Mb/s? What type of Internet connection do you have (xDSL, cable, fiber optics)?Your answer: Errrm... I said im a computer idiot right? hehe... i duno.. =x That doesn't prevent you from trying to read your contract papers, does it? Somewhere in there, the type and parameters of the Internet connection service they provide should be mentioned.Neither does it prevent you from trying to look at the cable which brings the Internet into your home and deciding if it is a TV cable or if it comes from the phone outlet on your wall (or whatever other piece of useful information for that matter). If neither of the two above are possible for you, then you can simply ask someone else who knows a wee bit more about computers. Because it's highly improbable that any of us is going to come to your place to check all that for you. ;) And our crystal ball is out of service right now. :D

roads
like the rest said, your listening port is blocked, open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 this will take you to your router. Depending on what router you have the user name probably will be User Name:Admin password:password if this doesnt work then just google search "whats my routers users name and password?" when you open the routers configuration page look for port forwarding/triggering then minimize the page and open your bitcomet and go to tool then options, click connections, on this page you will see Listening port, note what port it is set to. and minimize bitcomet. click start and then click run, in the box type cmd. when the cmd window opens type ipconfig. Look for IPv4 Address, this is your computers ip address your router has assigned it. open the router configuration page again and in the port forwarding section add the Listening port from bitcommet and assign the IPv4 address from the ipconfig window to the port forwarding. this will open your Listening port. There is also some other things you can do to speed up downloads but for now get that port open. Okay now that ports are open go back into bitcommet options and click Disk Cache. Heres something that sped mine up, I set the max disk cache to half of my ram 1g, it never uses all of it but it helped a lot, if your useing a computer without a lot of ram then theres not much you can do about it. Another thing is to limit the upload speed to half of your ISP upload speed, so if you have say a 20meg download speed and a 5meg upload speed then limit upload to 2.5megs, i have 5megs up but only have mine set at 250K/bs. hope this helps some Edited January 1, 2010 by roads (see edit history)
kluelos
like the rest said, your listening port is blocked, open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 this will take you to your router. I'm sorry, but this just isn't true. It will take you, roads, to the management page of your current router, but it will not work with the majority of other routers. There is no standard IP address for the firmware management page, and they vary greatly, some not even in that range. There's no substitute for reading the manual for your particular router.
