2bitwise
I have flv player 1.4 and it won't play flv files. I get a message "update flash version". Does anyone know what this means....and what do I need to do? Thanks!
greywizard
How do you try to play them?
2bitwise
I right click the .flv file and select 'open with flv player". The window opens, but instead of playing the file, it gives me the error.
greywizard
I've never used Flv player myself until now when after reading your message I downloaded and installed it. It looks like its development was discontinued since 2007. I'll take a wild guess and say it was using a Flash library and since it wasn't updated anymore it doesn't recognize anymore the Flash version on your system and mistakes it with an older one. It's odd though that it's still present on the site for download since it doesn't work. I'll try and ask the team about that. I suggest you use the MPCStar player which has the ability to play .flv files among many others (it is the video player currently developed and updated by the BitComet team). Or any other decent player (BsPlayer, vlc) for that matter.
2bitwise
Let me know what you find out. It looks like I need to get another flv player. WMP and Real play them, but the video quality is not quite as good. Thanks for checking this out for me.
kluelos
There ARE utilities to convert flv movies to other formats, so this might be easier for you.
