Vasy
Hi! You'll find that setting in Options/Directories. See what folder is currently your default download folder and you'll find your files in there. If not, open up the windows start menu and click on "Search" and look for the files downloaded by your task; if that shows no results look for a file recovery program, preferably a freeware one...the paid ones are over 40$. eddie1875
There's no need to quote the whole post above you unless you quote a specific part of it. Hi again, you'll probably think i'm stupid but where do i find Options/Directories? Also i can't find any option for me to click on Search in the start menu.I have Widows Vista. Thanks Edited January 12, 2010 by Vasy (see edit history)
Vasy
Um..what version are you using? The BitComet window has a toolbar 1/2 inch down from the top of your monitor, in that toolbar you'll find a button called "Preferences" or "Options" depending on what version you have (witch is classified information as it seems). Look more carefully and you'll see a search box in the start menu, and in every folder window. If that's not possible, look for and download google desktop search. The UnUsual Suspect
The reason we have rules for basic requirements for requesting support is so we will know things about your system, such as what bitcomet version your using for example. Since you've ignored these rules, the best we can do is guess, but most of the recent versions will download to c:\downloads You can most likely find your files there unless you have changed your settings to use another folder. greywizard
...i have windows Vista and i have'nt a clue how to find where to find c:\downloads. I don't mean to be blunt but if you don't know what a disk partition is or how to access it through your OS interface, you certainly need a computer beginner's manual. This is one of the most elementary notions about a PC. If you can't grasp that much, then whatever else someone will tell you, might still sound klingonian to you. My advice to you is: grab a book or hit a website for computer newbies and start familiarizing yourself with some of the basic notions and terms. If you don't do that, then you're in way over your head, here. (As a quick hint, in any Windows version you can access all the partitions which have disk letters assigned to them by opening the My Computer or Computer item from either the desktop - if it's made visible there - or from the Start menu.) ;)
